"Innovative Robotics Workshop Engages Students in Problem Solving"

<h4 data-start="200" data-end="280"><br></h4> <p data-start="281" data-end="986"><em data-start="281" data-end="293">March 2025</em><br data-start="293" data-end="296"> Ample’s Nest Montessori recently hosted an exciting <strong data-start="348" data-end="369">robotics workshop</strong> for our STEAM students. The workshop provided hands-on experience in building and programming robots, encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. Students had the opportunity to design and program robots to complete specific tasks, such as navigating through complex mazes and sorting objects. With guidance from experts in robotics, students gained insights into how technology can help solve real-world problems. This workshop served as a perfect example of how <strong data-start="852" data-end="863">Science</strong>, <strong data-start="865" data-end="879">Technology</strong>, <strong data-start="881" data-end="896">Engineering</strong>, <strong data-start="898" data-end="906">Arts</strong>, and <strong data-start="912" data-end="927">Mathematics</strong> (STEAM) come together to foster innovation and creativity.</p>

"Introduction of Music Technology Classes Inspires Creativity"

<h4 data-start="1859" data-end="1935"><br></h4> <p data-start="1936" data-end="2652"><em data-start="1936" data-end="1950">January 2025</em><br data-start="1950" data-end="1953"> This year, we introduced <strong data-start="1978" data-end="1998">Music Technology</strong> classes as part of our music curriculum, providing students with the opportunity to explore the intersection of music and technology. Students have been learning how to use digital tools to compose, record, and produce their own music using software such as <strong data-start="2257" data-end="2271">GarageBand</strong> and <strong data-start="2276" data-end="2292">Ableton Live</strong>. These classes not only introduce students to modern methods of music production but also foster creativity by encouraging them to experiment with different genres and soundscapes. In addition to learning the technical aspects of music production, students are gaining a deeper understanding of how technology plays a crucial role in the music industry today.</p>

"Guest Speaker Series: The Future of Artificial Intelligence"

<h4 data-start="4449" data-end="4524"><br></h4> <p data-start="4525" data-end="5314"><em data-start="4525" data-end="4539">October 2024</em><br data-start="4539" data-end="4542"> In October, our STEAM program hosted a fascinating guest speaker session on the topic of <strong data-start="4631" data-end="4663">artificial intelligence (AI)</strong>. The guest speaker, an expert in AI technology from <strong data-start="4716" data-end="4734">AI Innovations</strong>, shared insights on how AI is transforming industries such as healthcare, entertainment, and education. Students were able to ask questions and engage in discussions about the ethical implications of AI and its potential for the future. Following the presentation, students participated in a hands-on workshop where they created basic AI models, helping them understand how algorithms and data processing work. This session sparked a deeper interest in artificial intelligence and gave students a glimpse into the exciting possibilities that lie ahead in the world of technology.</p>

Jazz Ensemble Debuts at School Assembly"

<h4 data-start="4826" data-end="4881"><br></h4> <p data-start="4882" data-end="5559"><em data-start="4882" data-end="4898">September 2024</em><br data-start="4898" data-end="4901"> Our newly formed <strong data-start="4918" data-end="4935">Jazz Ensemble</strong> made its debut at a school assembly, and the performance was a hit! Students from various grade levels came together to perform jazz standards, improvising and collaborating in real time. The ensemble’s performance was energetic and showcased the students’ growth in both their musical technique and their ability to perform as a cohesive group. The ensemble is part of our growing efforts to diversify our music program and introduce students to different musical styles and genres. The success of this debut performance has inspired many students to join the group, and we look forward to more performances in the future.</p>

Through engaging tools like <strong data-start="2972" data-end="2983">Scratch</strong> and <strong data-start="2988" data-end="2998">Python</strong>, students have been learning how to create games, apps, and animations, all while developing crucial skills in problem-solving and logical thinking. The interactive nature of these classes encourages students to take on challenges and experiment with their code, empowering them to create projects from scratch. In a recent showcase event, students proudly presented their creations to parents and faculty, demonstrating their growing confidence and proficiency in programming. The coding classes are designed to help students develop a solid foundation in computer science, preparing them for future learning opportunities in the world of technology.</p>
